Studio manager - CHICAGO, IL


JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for all operations of this location including, but not limited to, leadership, schedule management, clienteling, marketing, community relations, retail presentation, event planning and execution. The Studio Manager is the primary driver in bringing in new clients, retaining practicing clients, and delivering a superior studio experience. Our ideal candidate? Someone with an established fitness instruction background, a detail and goal oriented workflow, and enthusiastic, outgoing personality with the ability to genuinely connect with students and instructors alike.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Manage day-to-day operations of studio

• Teach an appropriate amount of classes per week to enable continued connection with the AIR studio community

• Analyze financial performance and key metrics

• Ensure compliance with company policies & procedures

• Execute marketing initiatives and events, including private studio events

• Proactively address, handle, and rectify all client and team concerns

• Connect with potential clients through networking and word of mouth to drive studio attendance 

• Give and receive coaching within team and serve as a liaison between the studio team and corporate team

• Create a culture that motivates, inspires, and transforms lives in your market


EDUCATION:

Required Minimum: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred: BS Degree in Business or Retail Management

 

EXPERIENCE:

Required Minimum: 1 year in high-energy fitness instruction (barre, cardio, sculpt, etc.), 1-2 years’ in retail or customer service management setting

Preferred: 2+ years’ in retail or studio fitness management

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES: 

• Already living an active lifestyle, passionate about people and fitness

• Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with an ability to shift priorities quickly

• Highly organized and detail-oriented, happy executing on a tactical level

• Resourceful and strategic problem solving skills 

• Ability to work at least one weekend day per week, early mornings, and evenings

• Social media savvy, both personally and professionally

• Demonstrated initiative and passion, willing to offer up new ideas and go above and beyond the duties of the job
